MISSION STATEMENT
Kids And School Supplies was founded to ensure that all Evanston/Skokie students are provided with the basic school supplies so that they begin the school year with the tools necessary for success.
About us
Imagine the aroma of new crayons, the snap of marker caps, the look of freshly sharpened pencils, and the crisp feel of an unused pocket folder. It's easy to feel the excitement of school supplies!
KASS brings the excitement of school supplies to District #65 children and families in need. In August each year, KASS sets up its "store" and invites the students to pick up their supplies so that they can begin the school year fully-equipped and ready to learn. The families we serve appreciate the assistance, and our volunteers are rewarded with the smiles of the kids as they get "all this neat stuff."
KASS is an all-volunteer organization founded in 2000. Our partnership with Evanston Public Library allows us to use space in the Main Branch for our annual distribution. We depend on our community for financial support and receive monetary donations from many individuals, groups, District #65 PTAs, and foundations. District #65 generously supports us with in-kind donations of services and space.
